In 1982, AB Ingredients was established in Northampton by Associated British Foods plc (ABF) to focus on the development of dough conditioners for the bakery market in the UK and Ireland. Through its Allied Mills business, ABF formed KFI to provide cake mixes for the bakery market. In 2001, ABF acquired Kerry SPP, a leading bakery ingredients business. Then in 2002, Cereform Ltd was launched following the merger of AB Ingredients, KFI and Kerry SPP.

In 2018, AB Mauri UK&I completed the acquisition of both Holgran and Fleming Howden from Rank Holvis Milling, marking a significant milestone in our expansion. Holgran substantially enriches our product offerings with its exceptional range of malted grains, seeds and expertly blended inclusions, while Fleming Howden, widely renowned throughout Scotland for its extensive yeast and bakery ingredient range, significantly enhances our ability to serve the Scottish bakery sector.

In 2024, AB Mauri UK&I expanded its footprint with the acquisition of Romix Foods Ltd. This acquisition strengthened our position in the market, particularly in managing allergen-free mixes, and enhanced our ability to meet the growing demands of our customers. Romix Foods brings with it a diverse product range, including mixes for muffins, brownies, cookies, biscuits, scones, silk cakes and sponges as well as savoury products like bread, pastries, pizza and dumplings.
